The electronic board of bus stops will adopt a new generation of application systems that combine global satellite positioning and navigation technology (GPS), advanced communication methods, geographic information system technology (GIS-T), advanced video transmission technology, and smart sensors. It can make full use of the arrival data based on GPS in the current bus intelligent dispatch management system and establish a bus arrival forecast system through technology. After the completion of the project, the system will cover most bus stops and release real-time arrival information on all buses, which can provide real-time and accurate bus arrival forecasts for waiting passengers. In addition, the project comes with functions such as multimedia video playback, real-time video surveillance, passengers’ suggestions, public information release services, etc.
Electronic board: installation plan
For buses that have installed the on-board GPS positioning system, the bus positioning data is released to the control center server through the wireless network based on the existing bus dispatching system data. The real-time arrival information of the buses is calculated, and the calculation results are sent to the electronic board equipped with wireless communication equipment. Then, the forecast and information are released on the LCD screen.
