HK MTR Has Officially Launched Golong Embedded Payment Module


01{Updates summary}

        Recently, GLT's embedded payment module has been officially landed in Hong Kong's high-speed rail self-service ticket machine. It helps the project to realize the demand for international payment diversity in travel scenarios and improve the convenience and diversity of public travel payment.

Golong helps the Hong Kong Express Rail Link to promote the digitalization reform, and efficiently complete the new experience of travelling with a variety of domestic and international mainstream financial card payments such as Visa, Master Card, JCB and Union pay, as well as Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay to pay for the ticket purchase.

The landing of this project not only provides more diversified payment services for Hong Kong passengers' public transport trips, but also promotes the use of public transport trips as the first choice of travel, and to a great extent also promotes the popularization and application of green and low-carbon travel lifestyles.

02{Development Outlook}

        The disadvantages of the traditional mode of payment for public travel are the high operating costs of manual services, passengers need to carry their own travel card stored value, or bring their own change to ride the single fee mode.

        Nowadays, the payment for high-speed rail travel has experienced a transformation from traditional ticket card to paying multiple payment methods, and the embedded payment module developed by GLC is the product of the new era of mobile payment, which supports the MTR to gradually introduce a new mode of pay-as-you-go service.

 

Embedded Payment Module Advantages

      The embedded payment module of intelligent equipment in this cooperation is an intelligent acquiring module with payment function. The product development cycle is short, with the ability to quickly design and combine the corresponding embedded program with outstanding advantages. For example, the QR code charging system will be able to support dual offline payment operations, even if the mobile network signal is weak or no network, but also be able to complete the transaction, so that users can travel without hindrance

It is "small in size, full of functions" and can be "quickly read and compatible with a variety of systems". The new integrated design is more suitable for embedding in the public transportation environment, with rich application scenarios.

      It can not only be used for bus travel subway/high-speed rail self-service ticket machines, but also applicable to a variety of payment scenarios, such as self-service vending machines, gates and other scenarios.

      Facing the huge flow of people in such an international metropolis as Hong Kong, more efficient technological means are needed to enhance the convenience of mobile payment for citizens and tourists as well as friends from abroad in the train transportation scenario. Hong Kong High Speed Rail Station has also followed the pace of the Mainland this time by introducing embedded payment template equipment, which helps the efficient operation of the High Speed Rail Station and at the same time promotes the industrial upgrading of the self-service terminal industry.In this project, the self-service ticketing terminal will be combined with the embedded payment module to complete the user self-service ticketing through the machine embedded in the way of self-service machine, to realize the multi-card payment means, but also to enhance the user experience. Avoiding the troubles of "forgetting wallet", "not enough cash" and "queuing up for change", it improves the user experience and alleviates the pressure of supplying change. Through the "cashless" payment mode, it saves passengers' time cost, improves the operation efficiency of high-speed rail, and also helps to promote green travel in the city.
