Recently, it was learned from Golong Technology that the update and debugging of bus validators for 900 unified public buses in the Taizhou have been completed. Starting today, the city bus system will officially begin the era of scan payment, allowing citizens to enjoy the same discounts as regular bus cards, at 40% off the fare.
“Citizens only need to download the ‘Taizzhou Travel’ app. After recharge, they can complete the payment,” said Zheng Weijun, Deputy Manager of the Information Technology Department of Taizhou Public Transportation Group. The “Taizhou Travel” app not only has the function of scanning payment but also includes functions such as bus inquiries, transfer planning, customized public transportation, and charter and rental services.
It is understood that unlike the original regular machines, the new type of bus validators have a card-tapping area at the top for regular public transportation card transactions. A middle display screen showing related card-tapping information including card number, transaction amount, and card balance, and a newly added scanning area at the bottom, supporting QR code payment.
“I saw the new bus validators on route 137 more than half a month ago, and I even tried to use Alipay to scan for payment,” Mr. Wang, a citizen, told reporters. He basically takes bus route 137 to and from work. He tried the new scanning area with his Alipay before, but did not enjoy any discounts, so he paid the regular fare.
Hangzhou Golong Technology Co., Ltd. pioneered the introduction of mobile onboard bus validators in the public transportation industry. The system consists of a newly designed card tapping module and a carefully optimized new generation scanner. The machine has a compact structure, beautiful appearance, and excellent operating performance. It fully supports third-party financial platform payments such as Alipay and WeChat Pay, UnionPay QuickPass cards, and QR codes on bus merchant app, and is compatible with existing contactless IC cards and most domestic payment methods such as mobile NFC, allowing users to choose various payment methods at ease.
"My home is near a bus stop with direct buses to my workplace. When I have change on me, I choose to take the bus, which is convenient and cheap. However, because I often forget to bring change, the actual number of times I take the bus is still very limited. If I can pay by scanning QR codes, I will no longer have to worry about the change problem, which is great," said Ms. Xiao, a citizen. Nowadays, when young people go out, they can leave without money or a bag, but they cannot leave without a phone. After the bus adopts scanning payment, she no longer needs to prepare change specifically and can freely take the bus to work.
