Wenzhou-Cangnan Project

Assisting Epidemic Prevention and Catering to the Elderly with Smart Solutions

  • In October 2021, Golong Technology assisted Cangnan Public Transport in launching 325 all-in-one facial recognition payment terminals.
  • The Golong facial recognition terminals for buses are equipped with infrared temperature sensors and, through integration with big data, are capable of assessing health codes for elderly and special groups in face recognition boarding scenarios. This focus on technology aims to address the challenges faced by older adults in utilizing smart technologies. Since its deployment, the system has effectively improved passenger throughput during boarding.

To enhance the convenience of public transport for elderly individuals, Golong Technology has partnered with Cangnan Transportation Group. Utilizing advanced digital methods and concepts, this integration of facial recognition and IoT technology, combined with intelligent onboard terminals and mobile communication systems, has successfully introduced a facial recognition boarding service specifically for elderly passengers.

Currently, seniors aged 70 and above can access the “facial recognition” boarding service without needing to carry any identification. They can board any of the 117 urban bus lines for free simply by having their faces scanned, allowing them to enjoy the benefits of public transport policies and experience seamless travel. There are over a hundred new user registrations daily, with more than five hundred facial recognition transactions occurring each day.

In an effort to further improve public transport access for the elderly, Golong Technology has leveraged advanced digital solutions, applying facial recognition and IoT technology. The successful implementation of the facial recognition plus temperature measurement service on the 117 bus lines in Cangnan has established a remarkable convenience for passengers.

The Golong facial recognition terminals not only support traditional payment methods such as the Wenzhou Citizen Card, UnionPay QuickPass, Agricultural Credit Union aggregated payment, Alipay, and WeChat but also enable elderly and special groups to use facial recognition for boarding. This approach maintains existing benefits while enhancing the travel experience for these groups. In the context of ongoing pandemic precautions, the terminals equipped with infrared temperature measurement capabilities can accurately assess health codes while facilitating seamless travel for citizens, ensuring public health measures are upheld.

Wenzhou-Wencheng Project

Since the full launch of urban and rural public transport in Wencheng last December, low fares, fixed schedules, and standardized services have made travel more convenient and comfortable for residents.

The Wencheng facial payment system primarily targets seniors aged 70 and above. They can board urban and rural buses simply by following the Wencheng facial payment mini-program on the WeChat platform, inputting their relevant data, and then using facial recognition to complete the payment upon boarding and alighting. This system helps elderly passengers avoid the hassle of forgetting their cards when traveling.

Wencheng County has addressed the dual management and operational challenges of urban and rural transport systems by enhancing its mechanisms for long-term effectiveness, implementing targeted solutions, and optimizing services based on local conditions. As a result, a seamless connection has been achieved between urban and rural public transport, effectively bridging the transportation.

Shaoxing-Xinchang Project

Golong Technology supports the Xinchang Public Transport Group in installing facial recognition payment devices on their buses. This initiative aims to drive digital transformation in public travel and promote the development of smart cities. By providing passengers with diverse, high-quality comprehensive travel information services, the project enhances the speed and convenience of the travel experience.

To explore new methods for developing "smart public transport" and accelerate the pilot application of digital currencies in the bus sector, Xinchang Public Transport has implemented digital currency code payment functionality, effectively upgrading the bus card machines. This development meets the diverse payment needs of citizens and enhances their digital lifestyle experiences, laying a solid foundation for the future promotion and application of digital currencies in Xinchang.

In line with national policies aimed at addressing the difficulties faced by the elderly in using smart technologies, Golong has developed an all-in-one payment terminal that, in addition to card and QR code payments, now includes facial recognition functionality. This feature effectively resolves the challenges elderly passengers encounter when attempting to perform mobile payments. It allows for quick facial recognition, automated dual verification, and seamless QR code payments.

Quzhou-Changshan Project

The "U Worry-Free" bus facial recognition payment project in Changshan, supported by Golong, ranked 6th in the provincial road and transportation system’s best application selection. The “U Worry-Free” bus service not only facilitates individual user registration but also allows authorized family members to register and make payments on behalf of others. This feature benefits students and elderly groups by enabling convenient facial recognition payments during travel.

For groups holding special cards, the system allows for annual online verification through facial recognition. This function effectively mitigates the risk of group transmission during the pandemic and improves convenience for users.

Recently, the Changshan facial recognition project, launched less than a month ago, has already registered over 8,000 users, making it the first nationwide project to cover an entire county's population with facial recognition travel services.

Golong collaborates with Changshan Public Transport to develop a multi-faceted application scenario, promoting digital reform and innovation—focusing on solving travel bottlenecks and meeting passenger needs to enhance the travel experience.

In Changshan, citizens can use various payment methods, including facial recognition, card swiping, and QR code scanning, to board buses. The device quickly measures passengers' temperatures and assesses their health and safety information while facilitating facial recognition payments.

This “pay after facial recognition” service effectively supports epidemic prevention while being suitable for elderly users, allowing them and students to bridge the digital divide and enjoy the convenience brought by digital reforms.
